Brake light... help!

Posted by PavementPirate at May 22. 2007
Anyone have any experience dissecting Ducati wiring harnesses? The running light works, but the brake light does not. I have eliminated the bulb, assembly, and levers. ESM mentioned something about the common ground to the frame near the steering head as being a possible offender. This involves stripping all of that tape/insulation off of the harness. Removing the harness from my '01 was a b!tch; I can only imagine what it would be like putting it back on... It's doable, but I would rather not go to that length. Ideas anyone?

Not only am I playing with fire and dangerous doing the limited riding I do with it since this problem came to light, but its bound to get me a ticket sooner or later.

hey I had the same problem but mine was just a fuse.  I dont know if that helps but that was mine.  I also had something else that was a small fix when mine wasnt working.  ill think about it and try to get back to you.

Forgot to mention- I've blown about six fuses troubleshooting this darn thing. That'll teach me to use a multimeter/fluke next time!

Tail chop and F/R LP turn signals. At least this will be an opportunity to clean up the wire harness routing.
