Pound the mailboxes of your favorite WMRRA officials!  AFter OMRRA has modified the rulebook to allow the new Ducati engines our WMRRA Board has denied the change in their eminent foresight.....!!!

Ducati does not even make a 848 so why should they allow it?

I guess I get tired of manufactures claiming they need exceptions. Every year somebody needs a modification to help them out. I'd like to see a hp/weight rule and screw the rest of the BS. Afterall is about riders or about bikes?

The 848 is a project by DMD Racing (Darren).  It's just a mod of the 800cc Ducati engine.

Without exception ruling regarding tires and engines the 916 would have been a big pig on the track....Ducati would not even be a contender in most of the historical races the last 15 years that it has won the title........

Rule exceptions are there to keep the rules up to date with the changes in technology.

Rules punish innovation is another way of looking at it.

What I'm saying is anytime anyone falls behind the curve, they want to change the rules rather than do something innovative. Yes Ducati is small and others are larger but if you want to play you need to pay. There are big twin series that allow Ducs to race and win. Of course, no one was making big twin bikes (Aprilia is now).

It's just a mod of a 749 engine which you just as easily go to 924 with 999 cylinders which bolt right on. Ducati got ~80hp out of the supermono way back in the day (550 cc single) why haven't they improved on that? Because they haven't had to! IMO
